Energy Matter Force

  • In regards to E=mc2 I have a difficult time wrapping my head around how it affects me. I suppose it affects me daily, from nuclear energy to the daunting thoughts of nuclear warfare in my lifetime. If I am thinking of it correctly, then the concept that "mass is released as radiant energy= heat & light" makes me think of starting a fire by hand. Has anyone had that experience? to spin a piece of wood onto a wooden block so quickly as to create friction so it starts a spark, then you can harness that spark with a piece of dried out mugwort or other starter "fuel" then add a little oxygen and bam you have a fire! In this example the dried out piece of mugwort is harnessing the power of energy. That is what I think of when I apply e=mc2....

Bio-Chemistry Week 11

We really got into some deep and intriguing subjects on the first day of biochemistry. I remember feeling really sad when we were discussing pollution issues and its effects on tissues in as young as three year old children in Mexico City. The discussion of dry needling and appropriation by Kaiser was insightful and as a first trimester student very new and important for me. I remain excited about all the possibilities acupuncture has to offer in regards to people's health ability to heal. I am excited to see how my education helps me navigate all of the obstacles I am yet to be confronted with when working in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.
