Meaning of Time

Can we slow time down?

I do believe we can slow time down. I was once a manager of a very busy restaurant bar. We would sometimes serve up to 300 people on a single night, with only two bartenders. I was responsible for training my staff and one coworker once asked me advice about time management. I remember saying to them, you are in control of the time. don't ever forget that. You can slow down the time, just remember to make eye contact with each guest, welcome them, let them know you will take care of everything and time will always be your tool.

Cultural implication of time...

Various cultures have extremely different concepts of time. In America time is of the essence. Culturally we are constantly moving "quickly" but not always efficiently. and our rushing around and racing the clock can cause stressful disturbances to our health. In latin America and time seems to go slowly yet people are just as useful with their time. It feels like time is dictated by the course of the day, the weather, the heat, the wind, but relaxing and taking your time is just as important culturally.
I always love traveling to new places and the feeling of what happens in a day is so extremely different from place to place. I appreciate cultures that take time to rest in the middle of the day.

Parallel Universes...yeah. They are out there for sure. I often have people say to me that I remind them of an old friend. I look just like someone, my mannerisms make them think of someone. So perhaps there is a parallel universe where there are a few variations of us out there, co existing, coming into contact with one another.  Perhaps its on the plane of the perpendicular universe where we intersect.

  1. I love that advice! and now want to write it down somewhere anytime I feel time may be speeding up. I love how time was not only changing speed but in fact you took charge of it. Not exactly the same but I used to stage manage and especially for the shows that I could only watch once, I had to really slow down time in order to call the correct cue at the right time. It was an experience like no other and really am amazed at how much you could do when you are grounded in yourself and focused on the tasks at hand.
