Biophysics: Life & Living Systems

I know I am a living system because I can grow, learn, adapt, heal, reproduce, and ultimately die and go back to the carbon form in which I originate.

Biophysics and TCM can be interchangeable. Biophysics studies the theories of various aspects of physics and applies those to how biology works. TCM is looking at the health of the body, mind, and spirit in relation to how it interacts and is effected by its environment, external and internal, diet, lifestyle, stress and calm patterns, seasonally, energetically. The use of herbal medicine, energy medicine, moxibustion, acupuncture, massage all support the body on a biological level.

Bio-Chemistry Week 11

We really got into some deep and intriguing subjects on the first day of biochemistry. I remember feeling really sad when we were discussing pollution issues and its effects on tissues in as young as three year old children in Mexico City. The discussion of dry needling and appropriation by Kaiser was insightful and as a first trimester student very new and important for me. I remain excited about all the possibilities acupuncture has to offer in regards to people's health ability to heal. I am excited to see how my education helps me navigate all of the obstacles I am yet to be confronted with when working in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.
